生活潦倒的穷鬼阿武（金城武）某次因为赌博被人殴打至重伤后，开始把生命看得一文不值，拿命赌命以八万元代价接了一宗杀人买卖。行动前因为获得八十万意外之财，阿武又爱惜起生命来，请了刚从监狱出来的女杀手卡雯（李若彤）代他完成任务。 卡雯无法对旧情释然，屡次要阿武去见有负于她的旧男友，否则拒绝行动，阿武于无奈之下听命，却在了解事实真相的过程中慢慢爱上了卡雯，然而任务必须进行，阿武开始犹豫是否再把卡雯替下来自己去杀人。。《神勇CID》乃是著墨於警务人员与黑社会的大斗法，透过故事道出正与邪、善与恶的意义。故事首先交付二十年前刘炳坚与贾锡年运私货，刘炳坚被捕，在外国服刑，留下子女三人给贾锡年抚养。身任沙展的刘振辉乃刘炳坚之二子，因女友马思敏被毒贩企图枪杀，遵致失忆，悲痛之馀，决心追查主谋。另一方面，刘振辉之同事程进与江宝华自小青梅竹马，但因程进过於大男人主义，故而江宝华便转爱刘振辉，三个本为同僚的好友，遂牵涉进一段复杂的三角恋爱漩涡里。与此同时，贾鍚年之子贾若龙欲独揽黑帮大权，与黑帮头子张雄之情妇易海伦搭上关系，被张雄发现，含恨在心，而贾锡年知子不肖，大加责骂。 贾若龙在此情势下，为假装清白，遂娶了刘振辉之妹丽琼为妻，婚后依然与易海伦私会，刘振辉不满，常代妹出头，引起多次冲突。贾若龙野心勃勃，要进一步获得黑帮势力，便利用失意的程进达成目的，但在最后关头，程进协助刘振辉，...。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs.
