本剧改编自美国记者杰克·阿德尔斯坦记录了东京警视厅辖区内各事件第一手资料的同名纪实文学。故事发生在90年代末，杰克·阿德尔斯坦（安塞尔·艾尔高特饰）每天都会进入东京霓虹灯下的阴暗世界，在那里，一切都并非表面呈现的样子。而东京扫黑组的警探Hiroto Katagiri（渡边谦饰），对于杰克来说有着父亲榜样般的地位，他帮助杰克在警察和有组织犯罪世界之间那条纤细且往往不稳定的界线上前进。。Two dysfunctional couples rent a modern luxury desert home for the weekend hoping to sort out their messed-up lives.
